Aguas de Benahavís organises the 5th ‘Stories of Smart Water’ Literary Competition

Aguas de Benahavís organises for the fifth consecutive year its short story competition on 'smart water'

The competition is aimed at young people between 12 and 16 years old and demonstrates the company's commitment to the environment and to sustainable development. The final objective is to contribute to dissemination of water culture in all municipalities in which these companies operate, and to promote the participation of the youngest members of society in the sustainable use of this resource, through literature.

First- to fourth-year secondary schoolchildren from the town in Córdoba can participate by sending their short story, which must be no more than 200 words long and in Spanish, to the email: certamen@hidralia-sa.es. The theme must be based on the importance of water in society and the concept of a 'smart city'. The deadline for sending short stories is 31 January 2019.

The winner will be awarded an iPad tablet and there will be a special mention for the educational centre that has the highest number of participants. Last year, first prize was awarded for a short story called El Agua (The Water), by Elena Campos, a third-year secondary school student from the Compañía de María school in San Fernando (Cádiz).
